Character: Zavok
Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog

History:
(OOC: Sorry for length.)

Many years prior to the events of Sonic Lost World, Zavok was a Zeti who lived on the Lost Hex where he served as the apprentice of Master Zik. Master Zik taught him on various subjects, mostly fighting. Master Zik later formed the Deadly Six with himself, Zazz, Zeena, Zomom, Zor, and Zavok. When Master Zik became too old to lead, Zavok took the mantle as leader though Zik still remained a part of the team.

An unspecified period of time later, Dr. Eggman visited the Lost Hex hoping to set up a base of operations from where he could rule the world. During his visit, he encountered Zavok. Zavok moved to attack him, but was quickly subjugated by the doctor's Cacophonic Conch, an item that emmitted a noise that neutralizes a Zeti's magnetic powers and debilitates them. Zavok was then ordered to round up the rest of the Deadly Six and the gang was forced under Eggman's service, capturing animals to power up Eggman's Badniks.

Returning from a failed attempt to capture animals, Eggman demonstrated to the Deadly Six how to make Badniks. Zavok listened uninterested until Eggman mentioned Sonic. Intrigued by the prospect of a new enemy, Zavok allowed Zazz to fight him, confident that regardless of the outcome, he would learn something about Sonic. Zavok and the six later met Sonic face to face at Windy Hill. Eggman introduced them to Sonic and allowed Zazz to fight Sonic while Zavok and the rest retreated.

After capturing more animals, Eggman berated them for bringing them underwhelming animals. Zavok stood up and said they didn't care about his disappointment only to be brought back in line by the Cacophonic Conch. Later on, Zavok eavesdropped on Eggman, Orbot, and Cubot as they tested out the Extractor, a machine designed to siphon the energy from Earth. But the machine was unstable and would lock into overload if it reached full power, draining all of the energy from Earth and destroying it. Zavok took an interest in the device.

At Desert Ruins, Eggman punished Zavok and the Six for their failure to destroy Sonic by exposing them to the sounds of the Cacophonic Conch again. At that moment, Sonic appeared and kicked the conch away. Now free to use their powers, the Six took control of Eggman's Badniks and attacked everyone, driving them away. Afterward, the Six took control of Eggman's operations. That's where Zavok revealed his master plan: to have Eggman's Extractor drain all the energy from Sonic's world, using its energy to enhance their powers while destroying the planet itself as revenge against Eggman.

After Master Zik and Zeena failed to defeat Sonic, Master Zik and Zavok came up with the idea to turn Sonic into their robot servant. They set up a trap at Silent Forest, but their plan is foiled when they capture Tails by accident. Zavok decided to improvise and turn Tails into a robot instead. He then met up with Sonic in Sky Road and fought him himself, losing both times.

Angered by his humiliating defeats, Zavok began the process of turning Tails into a robot. Sonic later arrived at Lava Mountain where Zavok ordered the now roboticized Tails to kill him. Tails, however, had faked submission to surprise him, forcing Zavok and the Six to retreat. Sonic later confronted Zavok in a final battle, with the Zeti using his full strength. But he was ultimately defeated by Sonic. Due to the conflicting endings of Sonic Lost World (He falls into a pit of lava in the Wii U version and flies away in the 3DS version), what happened to him afterwards is unclear.

Personality:
At first glance, Zavok sounds every bit like the archetypal villain. He's arrogant, cruel, callous, and sadistic. But that wouldn't be fair as there's more to him than that. Zavok is very stoic, mostly unfazed by taunts or threats, and often responding to them with sarcasm. Zavok is also very determined when it comes to his goals. Once he starts something, he won't rest until it's finished.

Despite his muscular build, Zavok is far from a mindless brute. He is a cunning and patient warrior, biding his time and waiting for a moment of weakness. The minute Eggman lost the Cacophonic Conch, Zavok wasted no time rebelling against him with the others. Always observant, he constantly studies his opponents to learn everything he can before fighting them to ensure he has the advantage. He's also a skilled manipulator and knows exactly what to say to trick others. For Zeena, all it took was complimenting her looks and she readily went to stop Sonic.

Another trait of Zavok is his arrogance. Zavok carries a high opinion of himself and sees serving Eggman as beneath him. Being Eggman's slave annoys him to the point where he will openly speak up against the doctor despite the danger presented by the Cacophonic Conch. His arrogance also carries over to his fights with Sonic. Despite losing to the blue hedgehog, he brushes off his losses and boasts that he was the one Zeti Sonic could not defeat.

Zavok can also be considered sadistic. But unlike Zazz, who deals in physical torture, Zavok deals more in psychological torture. He revels in making graphic threats and spends the majority of the game taunting Sonic about his failures to save his friends. But that isn't to say he won't dabble in physical torture.

However, despite all of his malicious traits, Zavok has one redeemable part of him: His respect for Master Zik. He holds Master Zik in high regard and despite now taking leadership of the Deadly Six, he still has enough respect for Zik to defer to him for ideas. He even went so far as to try to dissuade Zik from fighting Sonic, feeling it was beneath him. When Master Zik presented the idea of turning Sonic into a robot, Zavok thanked him and gave a polite bow.

Other:
Abilities: Being a Zeti, Zavok has the innate ability to manipulate electromagnetic fields. By touching his forehead and using his hands, Zavok can command electronics to do whatever he desires. He and the Six were able to take control of all of Eggman's Badniks this way.

Aside from that, Zavok is a deadly hand-to-hand combatant. Zavok mainly attacks with fierce punches which he can bolster by surrounding his fists with energy. Zavok possesses immense physical strength, letting him punch part of the dragon mech clean off during the second fight with Sonic. Despite his muscular build, Zavok is incredibly agile, able to leap great heights and long distances. While immensely strong, Zavok always holds back in an attempt to gauge his opponents strength. He only uses his full power when an opponent is sufficently strong enough. He even states that Sonic was the first opponent to make him use his full power.

As the 3DS version shows, Zavok is capable of flight, using it to retreat after his fights with Sonic. He can also shoot fireballs from the palm of his hands and can breathe fire. Zavok can fire a laser beam from his mouth as well. As a desperation move, Zavok can increase his size dramatically. In this state, Zavok's strength and endurance gain a tremendous boost. I'm open to let the mods handle this ability however they see fit.

First Person:

[The journal opens to reveal a strange-looking figure. It looks to be a red demon of some sorts. His arms are folded and a he has a neutral expression on his face.]

Dramadramaduck? I'm impressed by the creativity. Real orginal. Oh, and to the idiot who thought stealing my arm bands was a good joke, know I'm not known for my sense of humor. It would be wise to return them to me and spare me the trouble of hunting you down.

Believe me, you do not want to make me upset.

Third Person:
Well, this was certainly a surprising turn of events. It wasn't too long after waking up in this strange world did Zavok come to realize he was still alive. On instinct, he called out for the others but they weren't here.

He then took a moment to center his thoughts and try to think on what happened. The last thing he remembered was battling Sonic at Lava Mountain. Stranger still was the fact that his arm bands were missing. But that was the furthest thing from his mind as he thought on this one burning statement. He failed! No. no, he didn't fail. He never failed. It was all thanks to that meddling hedgehog and that scientist. Zavok's anger boiled as thoughts of bloody retribution formed in his mind. One way or another, he would make them both suffer for his humiliation.

But then he took a moment to calm down and think this through a bit. He was in a strange world, he didn't know where he was, his arm bands were missing, the rest of the Six weren't here, and as much as he was loathe to admit it, he needed help. After all, as Master Zik said, patience was a warrior's best virtue.

He then spotted a book on the ground. He opened it up to find he was hearing voices and seeing faces. So it seemed this book was a communicator of sorts. It could come in handy later. And so, with book in tow, he made his way to wherever he could find shelter.

And hopefully wherever he could find his arm bands!
